We have been detectives in EY today..
Our two snails, fondly named Miss Jax and Miss Kirstin, were given one last spray of water yesterday afternoon before we all headed home. This morning we arrived at school to find that Miss Kirstin had disappeared! We searched high and low but could not find her ANYWHERE!
Mysteriously, we then discovered that there was a baby snail in the tank! This made us question even further what could have happened? Had Miss Kirstin shrunk overnight?! Had she had enough of the baby snail's crying and slithered off?! Had Miss Jax eaten her?!
We decided there was nothing else for it: We had to make a 'missing' poster. In order for everyone to understand what had happened, LS wrote a wonderful description. "Missing a snail. Miss Kirstin crawled away. Please help us find her." A wonderful picture of Miss Kirstin, Miss Jax and the baby snail with a trail of snail slime accompanied the writing.
We all walked round the school to find the best place to stick the poster. Would Mummies and Daddies see it if we stuck it in the Creation Station? Would children see it if we stuck it in the Staff Room? Finally we decided right beside the front door would be the best spot. Who knows what we will find in the tank tomorrow morning? Will Miss Kirstin have slithered back? Will there be something new inside it? Who knows..!
